DOUBLE DOUBLE

A few friends and I were together praying for a mutual friend who was ill. As we were petitioning God, one of my friends said something about “double double.” Later that day someone asked my friend about “Double Double” and she shared how the Lord had spoken to her that 2020 was the year of Double Double in her life. She went on to explain about her attitude of doubling the praise, doubling the gratitude and more. We all listened and said that it was good. It’s been a few months now and I can’t shake it. I’ve been pondering on this “Double Double.” So embark with me on the exploration of Double Double to see if there is anything in this word for all of us. Here’s the first thought…

DOUBLE PEACE

Chaotic and confusing situations cause anxiety and fear. In our society, we are fearful of… well, everything. We are fearful of failure or fearful of success. Some fear death while others fear living. There are those who fear being alone and those who fear being with people. We fear heights, crowds, spiders, water, aging, being unloved, and the list goes on. We have anxiety about the unknown and anxiety about what is known. And as if we didn’t have enough to deal with, now there’s covid19! Our enemy knows that if he can get us to fear, we will forfeit some portion of our freedom or even worse, our promised land/our destiny. (Remember the 12 spies)

God, in his divine eternal knowledge understood that we would be tempted to fear. One of the major prophetic declarations of Jesus was acknowledging him as the Prince of Peace. Yes, because he would ultimately bring peace into the earth, but also because he would bring peace into our lives. When the disciples were facing what they believed to be impending death in that storm, Jesus’s first word to the storm was “Peace”.  And because peace is such a needed tool in our arsenal for life, Jesus imparted to us his own peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives…” (John 14:27) As a result of giving us his peace, he tells us to not let our hearts be troubled or afraid. Since we have the peace that “surpasses all understanding” as Paul describes it, let’s operate in Double Peace.

How do we Double the Peace? First, we remember that we have a God who is with us in the midst of our storm and that he’s God who is BIGGER than our storm. So we focus on that big God!  Next, we speak to our hearts, our minds, and even our storms and declare “PEACE” just like Jesus did.  Now for the Double, we become the peacemakers for those around us. We show them our peace and we speak peace to their storms. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God! (Matt 5:17) Let’s walk in DOUBLE PEACE IN JESUS’S NAME!

Praise God, in the midst of any ruckus, you need to be able to think clearly, even to pray. Peace allows us to do that. So the first thing you need to ask God for in situations like that is PEACE. That you may be able to think clear and concentrate on what you need to do and what yo ask of God. Peace brings clarity.

Amen Ms. Eunice! Peace does help us to see things more clearly!

I absolutely love the phrase “double peace!” When 2020 came, I only imagined for myself clear vision and new opportunities for abundance and joy. As 2020 has unfolded, peace has been the one thing I’ve held tightly and consistently to in this struggle to stay balanced and focused no matter what has been thrown my way in the form of job loss, family strife, and just surviving in the midst of a pandemic.

The peace God has given me in the battlefield let’s me know everything will be alright. I am claiming my “double peace” right now, in the name of Jesus! Thank you for sharing this word of revelation with us. Keep writing and inspiring us all!♥️

Thanks for sharing Jamilla. It is true that sometimes what we anticipate does not exactly happen like we plan. I too believe that everything will be alright with you. And I am happy that you have found comfort in the Lord’s peace.
